Taber’s 2009 Walleye Invitational/A huge thank you to everyone who made the tournament come together! Tournament Officials Steve and Julie Ballou of Break on the Lake Resort on Cass did a fantastic job with everything. Good friends and exceptional people. Thank you Steve and Julie for your input organizing the tournament, conducting the Rules Meeting, and doing an amazing job with the weigh-in. Steve and Julie are hosting the 8th Annual Cystic Fibrosis Walleye Classic and Benefit on Cass Lake Saturday, October 3. Benefit Dinner on Friday, October 2. A great tournament for a good cause. Tournament Official Terry Matson with Let’s Go Fishing manned the pontoon (in heavy fog) and did a great job sending all the boats out smoothly and checking all the boats in. Thank you, Terry! A big thank you to Dan Posner who organized all the volunteers from Let’s Go Fishing (Kim Page, Kim Larson, Hannah Sehlstrom, Mechelle Posner, Rachel Posner, Jack Posner and more) to run baskets from boats to holding tanks for the weigh- in. Thanks to Stacy and Kade Leeper who helped out running baskets as well. You all did an excellent job making the weigh-in go quickly and efficiently—your help was invaluable. Thank you! Thank you to Roy Miller, Measuring Official for the tournament. Roy did an outstanding job quickly measuring fish to be weighed. Roy, thank you so much for giving your time to make the tournament a success. Your reputation precedes you. Thank you. Curt Obregon is a good friend who, with his sparkling personality, did a fantastic job as the Master of Ceremonies for the event. Thanks Curt! Thanks to Emily Bostic , Krista Thoring, Matt Peabody, and Zach Berg for helping out in all areas throughout the day. You guys did an awesome job—thank you! Jason Rylander did a beautiful job singing the National Anthem to kick off the tournament. Jason is an avid angler and one who sings great! You can check him out for Thursday night Kareoke at the 71 Bar north of Bemidji. Thanks Jason! Thanks to all the college students and friends who helped set up the holding tanks and stage. Kyle Gorick, Matt Peabody, Norm Berg, Zach Berg, Mark Wylander, Pete Felion and Anthony Milano. Thank you! Pete and Matt also did a great job overseeing the holding tanks throughout the weigh-in. Thanks to college students and friends Hanna Lord and Brittany Powelson who did a great job with the scoreboard. Thanks to Breanna Hurlburt who was Julie’s righthand woman up on the stage. Thanks Breanna! Thanks to Patrol Boaters Kory Brandt and Jay Carroll who were there to keep an eye on things and also if someone needed some help out on the water.
